Lid Scrubs

Lid scrubs are  useful for relief in conditions such as Blepharitis, Chalazions, and Hordeolums.  Lid Scrubs are performed to remove excess dead cells, oil, and bacteria from the base of the lashes and eyelid margin.  Below are the steps to perform Lid Scrubs, perform as prescribed by your Eye Care Professional.

1.       Wash Hands

2.       Mix 10 drops of baby shampoo in one 8 oz glass of warm water. Caution: make sure water is not too hot to avoid burning lids or face.

3.       Use the warm baby shampoo and water solution to soak a clean washcloth thoroughly and wring out excess solution.

4.       For the Lower Lids wrap the wash cloth around the index finger and rub your eyelid margin above the lashes and remove the scales down and away from the lid margin.

5.       Rinse the cloth and re-soak.

6.       Repeat step 4 for the Upper Lids.
